Prom 2013

I have not been sewing in quite awhile....  I think it may be a result of flag sewing burnout,
but there have been other things going on at our house, the prom was last weekend and I would never have believed the amount of time and effort that went into getting the 'perfect' dress.

Here are three of the aprox 50 'rejects' tried on over the course of 3 weeks...

The final choice was nothing like what she had in mind...  it was the result of an inspired sales person who took an interest in helping her find something.

These are the Senior Color Guard girls, they all looked wonderful!

This one included a couple Junior girls as well.

This was the whole group that assembled and traveled together.  Most were Guard girls, a couple dates and a couple friends.  I loved that the majority of the group were just friends that wanted to make a memory together.

And yes, what is a prom without the obligatory limo... this was actually a 'Disco Party Bus'. Since the actual event was a good 45 min drive, they spent considerable time on the bus.
Looked like a good time was had by all!

This weekend I am headed to the west coast where I will get to deliver a couple of quilts.
We have elderly family members that have had to move into assisted living homes due to extreme health issues.  (being the family members that live 1/2 way across the country is no fun anytime, especially now) After checking with the facilities and the family members that are local I decided that each should have a quilt to brighten their rooms and will be delivering them in person.
