Chevron Love

While tracking down some fabric that I 'needed' at a local quilt store, my daughter picked up a pre-packaged stack of fabric that she "LOVED" and "NEEDED" a quilt for her dorm room out of.
Well, the package was for a baby quilt and that was not going to work, so we tracked down most of the bolt and some substitutes a picked a sample quit off the wall as out inspiration.
The sample quilt was for a class offering, but the lady who made it pointed me to the book she used, Chevron Love by Sweet Treasures Publications.
I know there are lots of chevron patterns out there, but this was better than any I have seen online.  The quilt came together in a couple days and she had it ready to take to dorm move in this last week!
In fact, it was so super easy, I was able to make 2 in a 10 day time period.  My oldest who wanted the quilt already had 2 quilts more than her sister, who had requested a quilt for this years band show, specifically the bus ride to Indy they will be making in November.  I had found the snake material which fits the show theme and had a stack of fabric thinking a disappearing nine patch.  So happy I went with this instead!  The back is a lovely red flannel.

I can not believe that it is August, I am working on band flags again, and I still had time to put these to together!  Now it just needs to cool down enough to be able to use them.
Sharing at my favorite Friday share place, Confessions of a Fabric Addict for a Whoop!

  1. I think it's gorgeous that your children love your quilts so. And I had to giggle at the quilt with feet.
I'm quite partial to the red/green chevron. The red flannel sounds wonderful.

  2. They both are pretty cool, and I'm betting that they think the same of you, Mom!

  3. Very cool! And you knocked two out in 10 days, that's amazing. You're a great and talented mom!

  4. A lovely pair of chevrons, I am tempted to do one ....

  5. I love them both! I just made a baby chevron with half square triangle. Is that what these are?
