Storytime UFO

This is how my Storytime Squares Quilt looked last Friday.

This is what it looks like now!  The pattern is by Made by Rae and can be found here.  It was used by many last fall as part of the 100 quilts  for kids project.  I had good intentions and started it, but I lost traction when Christmas presents started popping in to my mind.

I used Spring Green kona for the binding and for the back a Michael Miller print from my stash that features children's rhymes, Hey diddle diddle, Rub-a-dub-dub, Jack be nimble, Hickory dickory .... you know... all those....

The gnome approves. The gnome is happy that this is one less UFO hanging out.
This was a painless finish of UFO # 8, which was the month of March's UFO challenge.

Pretty Piles

I spent some time yesterday and this morning putting away fabric.  After pulling out odds and ends for the Granny Squares I had stuff all over and decided it was time to get things put away.

I don't know about you, but once I start playing with my fabric, I mean putting stuff away, I end up with piles for prospective quilts...  these are the ones I came up with....

I have no real plans for the piles, although any of the three would be great for a queen sized tumbler quilt for my bed.....  but nothing is happening with any of these until a couple of the projects in progress get done so i better start sewing!

WIP 3/7

Looking back, this has become a monthly rather than weekly report.....

New starts this month:

I fell into the granny trap and I keep fantasizing about one made from my AMH with even larger squares.  This one is scrappy and made from 4.5" squares.

Worked on this past month:
I now have three Swoon blocks done... I need to pick up the pace this month.

Completed this past month:
My daughters tumbler quilt was completed and was well used on the bus to regional competition.

My UFO of the month, County Fair 1-2-3 which is now on my bed!

And with all the spring blooms, I could not resist making a small table runner.

Sitting quietly this month:Rainbow blocks, Chubby Stars QAL, Juki Spring, American Jane blocks, 36 patch QAL, HST project, Storybook Quilt, New Wave, Pinwheel Sampler, Hope Valley round-and-round QAL, postage stamp

March Plans

Storytime Squares quilt that I started last fall is the UFO of the month!  Perfect!  Super easy, and I think it is the only smaller quilt on the list... which will help since I managed to start two more projects in February that I don't want to end up as UFO's on next years list.

First is the Granny Squares quilt along with Old Red Barn.
Krista officially kicked it off today, but many people have already completed their projects.  If you have not yet jumped on the granny wagon, its not too late!

I made my blocks with 4.5 inch squares so 12 blocks will make a good sized quilt and 20 will make a queen sized and I am still deciding which it will be.  I have 8 blocks so far and they are easy peasy & quick.

And my Swoon continues, this is block 3.  I have all my fabrics and need to work these into the schedule.  I think I am going to cut them 2 at a time since the cutting takes so much thinking :)  This will limit the number of times I need to think.

So what do you have planned?  Spring weather is coming here, 75 yesterday and 83 expected today, so my sewing may be slowing down a little but I hope to get Storytime and Granny's done and 3 more Swoons done as well.
