Back to my quilt and not my driving habits... This was made from two charm packs of Authentic and some extra cut yardage. It is all basted and ready to quilt which will be my project for next week. This may be close to the largest quilt I have attempted to quilt myself, coming in at 60 x 72. I will post this weekend on the steps to spray baste on the wall if you're interested.
Any ideas for a name for this beauty? Naming my quilts is kinda new to me and I am not very inventive. (see list if you doubt that) So far I have been thinking of this as Authentically Square, but that was from when the quilt was made only of squares and was a square and I deviated from that. Ideas welcome!!! Help!!
Check out some other end of week re-caps at Amy's Sew & Tell!
Diane I love your quilt. Authentic is one of my most favorite lines. So I think you should name it "Patty's Quilt" and send it to me at my home address. P. S. I'll send my address when you need it. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe colours remind me of a martini with an olive, so I would call it "Shaken, Not Stirred". Hmmm.... is it happy hour yet? Great Friday finish, Diane!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute! I love simple straight designs. SO fun! I'm terrible about naming quilts too.... so I'm not much help!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt, it is very pretty! :) Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteI just started naming my quilts too, but am horrible at naming them. I LOVE, LOVE your quilt though! especially becausee of the fabric, that Authentic fabric is the best!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your blog too, thanks for sharing!
Well, I'm clueless, but that's nothing new! I really like the pattern on the front and the back. How about "Stationary"?
ReplyDeleteYou win the "Funniest Post Story" award for Friday Finish. Beautiful job!
very cute!!!!! i love the design!
ReplyDeleteit looks great...pretty design. that is very clever of you to spray baste on a wall. i wish i could help with a name but i don't name mine either....
ReplyDeleteDiane that is one beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see how you quilt it. Spray basting in the garage is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI am terrible at naming quilts too. (I saw and read about your dilemma and thought, "Authentically Quadrilateral." Very lame. Can't take the math teacher out of me) Mod Quads maybe? I should just give up now... :)
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I thought of when I saw this was (well, first first was WOW, second first was) The Hamptons. The blues and tan's remind me of the ocean, and the limey greens remind me of the grass that would be growing close by. It just looks so preppy and classy and those few rectangle blocks look like a horizon layered with grass and sand and sea. I don't know why I think this. I've never even been to The Hamptons, and I'm not really an ocean lover. But that's what I keep thinking!
ReplyDeletePS the grays are of course the old weathered shingle houses that are much too big to be practical, but beautiful nonetheless :o)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of this quilt and the layout. For a name - I asked my husband who is a mathematician since you mentioned squares and deviations. He said how about ANOVA which stands for Analysis of Variations.
ReplyDeleteLove your qulit Diane. Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteGreat fabrics--I love the border with the blocks. Sorry, DH names mine because I have namer's block, too. Cool quilt, though.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt Diane! Great idea to spray baste in the garage too. I actually like your original name of the quilt, as it still has squares.
ReplyDeleteI would call it Garage Door!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Front and back! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt top! I have a layer cake of Authentic that's been sitting around for a while waiting to turn into a quilt for the husband, so thanks for the inspiration! I really like how yours turned out!
