Chevron Love

While tracking down some fabric that I 'needed' at a local quilt store, my daughter picked up a pre-packaged stack of fabric that she "LOVED" and "NEEDED" a quilt for her dorm room out of.

Well, the package was for a baby quilt and that was not going to work, so we tracked down most of the bolt and some substitutes a picked a sample quit off the wall as out inspiration.
The sample quilt was for a class offering, but the lady who made it pointed me to the book she used, Chevron Love by Sweet Treasures Publications.

I know there are lots of chevron patterns out there, but this was better than any I have seen online.  The quilt came together in a couple days and she had it ready to take to dorm move in this last week!

In fact, it was so super easy, I was able to make 2 in a 10 day time period.  My oldest who wanted the quilt already had 2 quilts more than her sister, who had requested a quilt for this years band show, specifically the bus ride to Indy they will be making in November.  I had found the snake material which fits the show theme and had a stack of fabric thinking a disappearing nine patch.  So happy I went with this instead!  The back is a lovely red flannel.

I can not believe that it is August, I am working on band flags again, and I still had time to put these to together!  Now it just needs to cool down enough to be able to use them.

Make Life Baby

Wow, was June 3 really the last time I posted here?  Hmm... well, I have done a couple things so I better get to sharing!

I made this for a friend who just added a baby boy grandchild to her family.

I had the blue/brown stashed away that were extra from my 'Make Life' jelly roll quilt done several years ago and I had a couple pieces that I had picked up on sale that I was able to use for the end pieces and backing.

This pattern, Little Man from Camille Roskelley's first book worked great to use what I had.

I am working on a couple more things that I am super excited about including a new queen sized Low Volume quilt that I look forward to sharing.  I hope it will not be 2 months before I share again.

Today I am linking to Sarah's Woop fest to celebrate a finish and a post!
