WIP's

Yes, I am working on stuff and there is progress, slow, but progress ....

My oldest got an iPad for graduation from her grandmother and I searched out a pattern to make a sleeve, something to give it some protection and a home in a backpack.
The pattern I settled on is from One Shabby Chick.
I have the first one all cut out ready to go, and I have a stack of cute fabrics to make some for all her fiends with iPads or macbooks.

I did all that while I was supposed to be working on the tshirt quilt.  The blocks are all completed and put together and I have the blocks assembled that will go on the back as well.
I am procrastinating on the borders and them completing the back which will just be blocking big pieces around the two sets I have put together.... need to get to that...

This is still sitting out which is a good sign, I have not put it away out of sight to be forgotten.  After finding the perfect color for the border, Kona Cotton Cerise, I kinda fell into a black hole with no inspiration ....  need to work on that....

I still have this stack, the pile I started for my my daughters college quilt.  I have not cut into it yet.  Rather than a graduation gift it may be Christmas. I am thinking about using  it for Camille Roskelley's  hashtag pattern that is part of her Craftsy class that I got the coupon for when buying her new book.
Idea on that idea?

WIP 2/20/13

Ongoing project, in the order I get to work on them...

I have the perfect color for the border and binding of this quilt!
It is Kona Cotton Cerise and I think it has just the right pop without overwhelming the quilt colors.

The HST quilt is quilted and I sergred around the edge in preparation for binding.  With all the bias edges on there was some jockeying around, but it is all sewn up ... debating on ash binding or maybe teal?

The blocks for the scrappy string cousin quilt are done and ready to be sewn together.  I have a lovely backing picked out all ready!

My crazy plan for the year, each new project must be balanced by the completion of an existing one from the list below, so, the above are listed in that criteria, ending with a new for year project meaning I need to pick off the list something to finish up next before starting this....

This is the pile I started on my my daughters college quilt.... Its the second pile since in the fall I was collecting red.while.grey with elephants, but no matter, people change thier minds, I think this time for the better, and I now have a nice red white grey pile.

She is attending Baylor in the fall!  I was originally going to to a strip quilt, like the scrap on in the works, alternating green/yellow, but an open to recommendations and suggestions. Not too much white since it will be in a dorm room.

She was admitted to the honors dorms which are in the center of the campus, one of the oldest buildings.  She sleeps under 4 quilts I made here at home, so I want this one to be a quilt cheery and warm for her new space, her new adventure!

Thursday WIP

Well, its Thursday, but better late than never, especially when I am not actually working on anything now, just waiting on fabric.

Since my last WIP check in I completed the Scrappy Trip along top.

I purchased Crocus Kona (way more purple than picture) for the border/binding, but am not in love with it and am thinking of ordering Cerise

While waiting for fabric to come in for flag work I pulled this out.  I ran out of the Ash Kona so had to order it as none of the three fabric stores in the area that carry Kona have this color.

The Scrappy String quilt has been put on time out pending completion of an UFO.

That is my crazy plan for the year, each new project must be ballanced by the completion of an existing one from the list below:

Rainbow blocks, Chubby Stars QAL, American Jane blocks, Round & Round, Pinwheel Sampler, postage stamp, Swoon, Arcadia (HST which is what got called from the list this week to work on)

WIP 11/28

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

I made progress on a couple items this week.

My Old-New Wave top is completed and spray basted, ready to quilt.

Granny Squares got basted and are mid quilting... taking forever as I am using a rather tight meandering pattern ... I am so looking forward to getting it done and washed to savor the crinkly goodness.

And I pulled this out, my Round-and-round quilt from Amanda Jeans QAL ages ago and have it up on the design wall.  I have a plan to complete it, finally, without any further round-and-rounds.

WIP 1/11/12

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Well, we are well into the new year, everyone should by getting 2012 on those checks (and all the 20-somethings say 'checks, what are they'). And true to form, I have started 2 new quilt along projects... yea!

New Starts this past week:

(see post)

I also started a new queen sized quilt for our bed and a scrap project via Pleasant Home Scrap along. No pictures of those yet as I am in denial that I actually started them. They are distractions keeping me from my task which is working on the project below.
Worked on this past week:

I got the remaining sections completed as well as the extra strip on the sides so the top is all done, backing chosen and ready, so tomorrow is sandwich and quilting day... targeting Friday for completion.

Completed this past week:

I completed my Nicey Jane jelly roll quilt. I think I will be saving it to donate later in the year.

WIP 1/4/12

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Happy WIP New Year! I cleaned up my list and dropped anything that I got completed in December, which were quite a few... I think I count 6 quilts that I started and completed since my last WIP post in November. So, starting the year with a clean slate and just reporting progress from the past week, here goes!

New Starts this past week:
I caved and grabbed a Nicey Jane jelly roll that had been sitting around forever and whipped this up, the Jelly Roll Race, or also called the 1600 quilt. I hope to be able to share this as a completed project next week.

Worked on this past week: This was #5 on my UFO list for 2012 and I have been working on it since Monday. I had one section done and added another so its half done. Target for completion for the UFO challenge is end of the month and if I don't get too distracted that should not be a problem.

I also worked on my 1" postage stamp over the weekend and you can see it here.

Completed this past week: nothing

(give me a break... I competed 6 quilts last month!)

Sitting quietly this week:Rainbow blocks, Chubby Stars QAL, Juki Spring, American Jane blocks, 36 patch QAL, HST project, Storybook Quilt, New Wave, Pinwheel Sampler, 1-2-3 County Fair, Hope Velley round-and-round QAL
